I listened to these albums last week, maybe you’ll like some of them, too:
Artist: L-T Terror
Album: Employee of the Month
Year Released: 2025
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 5
Best Song On First Listen: Payday
Travie Says: Absolutely love the concept of this album. Music for the working man. Wow. If you've ever had a dream for something more while stuck at a job you hate, you'll understand his perspective here. “Payday” was my favorite song, but also be on the look out for the title track, “Work Wife,” and “I Quit.”
Artist: Jensen McRae
Album: I Don’t How But They Found Me!
Year Released: 2025
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 5
Best Song On First Listen: Savannah
Travie Says: This album is carried by Jensen's absolutely stunning voice and personal lyrics. She has the powerful ability to emote through her tone. I'm actually too stunned to speak about how gorgeous she sounds. “Savannah” really sticks with me, but “I Can Change Him,” “Tuesday,” “Praying For Your Downfall” and ESPECIALLY “Massachusetts” are stellar songs. This woman is really good at writing songs about American geographical locations.
Artist: Alex Warren
Album: You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1)
Year Released: 2024
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 3.9
Best Song On First Listen: Catch My Breath
Travie Says: Benson Boone and James McArthur welcome a new member of the family. I was shocked to find out that Alex is American lol. There is something so British about his music to me!
Artist: AKIA
Album: DUMBCRAZY
Year Released: 2025
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 4
Best Song On First Listen: DND
Travie Says: Some good melodies on this album! Definitely a pleasant listen.
Artist: Fela Kuti
Album: Gentleman
Year Released: 1973
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 4.2
Best Song On First Listen: Gentleman
Travie Says: I had heard Fela Kuti’s name a lot in the past. I remember Beyoncé mentioning that she had listened to him, and in a recent interview I watched with Cynthia Erivo, she mentions how important he is to Nigerian music. I will need to dive more into this legend’s catalog.
Artist: Kesha
Album: .
Year Released: 2025
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 4.2
Best Song On First Listen: TOO HARD.
Travie Says: Kesha is liberated and releasing music under her own label, Kesha Records. On ., she has fun and also spends some time getting introspective. For me, the album really finds its footing from “DELUSIONAL.” beyond.
Artist: Durand Jones & The Indications
Album: Flowers
Year Released: 2025
Rating (Out of 5 Stars): 5
Best Song On First Listen: Really Want To Be With You
Travie Says: Sometimes, you just need some soul music in your life. There’s like, four different songs I could’ve used for the Best Song On First Listen. “Really Want To Be With You” won out (The background vocals on that song. My goodness!), but I also loved “I Need The Answer,” the guttural screams on “Rust and Steel” lol and the incredible closer, “Without You.” “I can’t sleep but still I dream about you” is a bar.

At first the Kesha album was a disappointment for me, but after a few listen it has grown on me
Yo what a SOLID week of listens. I was anxiously anticipating Durand Jones & The Indications' latest album, "Flowers," and I'm glad it did not disappoint.
